France & Germany Tour - March 24th – April 2, 2011

Cathedral City High School Symphonic Band has been accepted to perform in an 11-day tour of France and Germany by World Projects International Music Productions!

The Tour will take place between the dates of March 24th – April 2, 2011. While in Europe, we will spend our time performing four concerts in conjunction with wind bands from both France and Germany, visiting the cities of Paris, Bonn, Heidelburg, Cologne, and Munich! Whilst in Europe, we will also visit the Louvre, Champs-Elysee, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Beethoven’s Home, the Cologne Cathedral, Dachau Concentration Camp Site, and many, many other places and events! In addition, the students of the CCHS Symphonic Band will also perform a concert as a part of the Heidelberg Music Festival!

Travel Insurance:
We are working with a new insurance company and they have a plan that I think will suit our needs quite well. They are called Travel Insured International and the plan I'm recommending is the 'Student Comprehensive Plan'. This includes the standard Post-Departure Insurance (to cover you when on the tour) plus the Trip Cancellation insurance option. Note that the Trip Cancellation portion of this coverage is for situations were travelers are forced to cancel from the trip due to sickness, injury, death in the family etc. Not just because of financial hardship or other conflicts. Just wanted to clear that up from the get-go so there's no misunderstanding. Here is a bit of a summary for now:

The insurance premium will be $66 per person, and will be included in the tour cost, so there is not another out of pocket expense.

Summer Payment Auto-debit:
There have been some that have asked for another payment option. For those who are interested, you may have a payment amount debited from your checking account during the months you specify. The payment would go to the CCHS Band Booster account, and be sent to World Projects on your behalf. To take part in this simply complete the ACH Payment form (on CCHS Band website tour link) and submit it with a VOIDED check. Please remember that this is optional. Please also include the amount you would like to pay on the auto debit form.

Nicolino’s:
The Nicolino’s fundraiser will be rescheduled for later in the calendar year, after the summer break.

Community Discount Cards:
If you are selling CDC, please bring back ALL of the money for the cards by the May payment date.

New Passport Applications, and passport processing tips now available through the CCHS BandOffice. - See Director of Bands to pick them up.
